How to Set Up Your New Gmail Account
Step 1. First click on the following link https://accounts.google.com/SignUp. An interface will appear as shown below, Google will ask you to fill in the necessary information for the account. Example: First name, Last name, Username and Password
Notes on this step:
- Username can use letters, numbers, and periods and must be between 6 and 30 characters long.
- Gmail password requires at least 8 characters including at least 1 letter and 1 number. You should use a combination of uppercase, lowercase, numbers and characters for the most secure password. You should not use easy-to-guess passwords such as 12345678, your name, a relative's name or date of birth, phone number
After you have filled in all the information in the first step to continue, click "Next".
Step 2. After clicking next in step 1 above, you will be taken to the next interface by Google to fill in some additional required information. Example: Phone number, recovery email, birthday and gender.
Notes on this step: Your recovery email and phone number may not be required. But I think you should enter it, because this is important information to deal with later problems. Continue clicking "Next"
Step 3. On the next page, you'll see Google's terms and privacy policy. This step requires you to read and click the "I agree" button to Google's policies. Check out the picture below
